Online video presents The Streamy Awards

Yesterday saw the release of the nominees for the second annual Streamys. For those of you unfamiliar with the awards they celebrate the best in online television and videos. Last year saw some high profile shows, such as personal fave Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog, awarded for their greatness and this year is no different. If for no other reason the award nominees are worth checking out for the sheer calibre of online television that you may have missed. I’m a big fan of The Guild myself. The awards ceremony takes place on April 11th, 2010 and the full list of nominees is listed below (with thanks to Streamys).

Snark n. Biting, cruel humour or wit, commonly used to verbally attack someone or something. Combination of “snide” (critical in an unfair and nasty way) and “remark”. There are of course two variations. The commentators who attack without reason, and the trolls. The Internet has always been filled with trolls, people who go out of their way to be snarky in an attempt to goad, hiding behind the veil of wit and looking down their nose at those who trip up online. This si going to be a weird one. A very weird one. The first 2 promos went online yesterday. I’ll be keeping an eye on this You Tube channel to find out more!

Vultures PI are back with The Adventure of the Hidden Microfilm

The lads from Vultures PI are back and their latest case looks, er, emmm, well…. Shot in Kilkenny by a group of very talented guys, the whole scenario revolves around three private detectives who run a small private investigation agency. You’ll find more about them over on their website where all their previous episodes are stored, waiting for you to have a look. You’ll fine more about Mycrofilms, the geniuses (genii?) behind the series, in the Vultures Office. The new episode goes online June 7. If it’s anything like the last ones, it’s going to be great.
