Just because we’re all looking forward to it so much and they are so pretty, I thought I’d post the brand new Alice In Wonderland posters. I’d love prints of some of these. March 2010 cannot come quickly enough!
Remember I posted about the massive Bollywood dance scene to be shot in Dublin last April? I know some of the readers or posters on here were there… Well here’s the trailer: Looks great, doesn’t it? It’s going top be shown at the Darklight Festival 2009 at Exposure at the Lighthouse Cinema at 1.30pm, Oct 10. Tickets are €8. Music by Decor Music. This is the new video for MGMT’s track Kids. It’s directed by Ray Tintori, who was also behind the psychedelic promo for Time to Pretend that helped initially launch MGMT into the limelight. The new promo for Kids offers a frightening, lo-fi insight into how the world might seem through the eyes of a very young child. But it all seems more than a tad exploitative to me as the kid genuinely looks terrified. This poses serious ethical and moral questions. Should children be exposed to such blatant horror? Should their fears and emotions be so exploited in the name of such promotion, artistic or otherwise? And are MGMT trying to be controversial or just thought provoking? Regardless of the moral issues the video, for me, just doesn’t work anyway. It has a theme, yes, but very little in the way of narrative. The initial idea seems to have gotten … There’s more
