You know, it comes to Tuesday every week and I think ‘I must start the Catch-up’ but inevitably I put it on the long finger until Friday morning comes around when I scramble, bleary eyes and uncaffeinated to put the post together. I found myself in Ballinasloe last night and couldn’t get over the state of the town since the floods of this week. Football pitches are now rivers, roads are closed, people have been washed out of their homes. I was so grateful for my warm, dry home to come back to. The floods in the west, midlands and south of the country have wreaked turmoil on people’s lives this week, leaving many washed out of their homes in the lead up to Christmas. Today FM and The Ray Foley Show have launched an appeal to the public to give what they can or in the case that you can’t give, do what you can to help these families.
