It’s been another busy week of music news…most especially for those of us who are signed up to more mailing lists than could possibly be healthy. Fox Jaw Bounty Hunter launch their debut album today. The Limerick four-piece spent five months in studio with Owen Lewis whose credits include working with the likes of REM and Snow Patrol and the result is The Devil in Music, the first single from which is ‘Thread the Needle’. “The single features an arrangement of musical notes to form a chord known as a tritone. In the Middle Ages this grouping of notes was frowned upon and in some cases banned for its demonic and evil sound, and thus was nicknamed ‘Diabolus in Musica’ – Latin for The Devil In Music.” I like the sound, I’m not sure about the vocals. The Chemical Brothers Further: A Review

Hey boys, hey girls, The Chemical Brothers are back and on fine form with their seventh studio album Further. You’ve got to had it to this pair - they’ve been consistently making good dance music for almost twenty years now. At this stage in their careers they could just sit back, relax and live off the interest from all those million-selling albums (see Fat Boy Slim for tips). Instead they’ve gone and recorded a gem of a record. And subwoofer speaker systems around the world will be getting a dusting down this summer as the duo are touring to support the release.
