Ticket Alert: The Script - Aviva 2011

We’re big fans of the Script here at Culch. Having sat down with the lads around their Arthur Guinness day performance and caught their live shows more than once, we are definitely excited about this one. The lads are playing a massive homecoming show in Dublin’s Aviva Stadium (or Landsdowne Road to the old fashioned amongst you). Tickets went on sale this morning for €44.20 for the show which s the perfect chance to see how the band has evolved from playing the Dublin pub scene to handling a giant stadium, an achievement for any band just fresh from their second album. We can’t see tickets lasting long considering the epic slew of 3 sold out dates in March for Dublin’s O2 so grab yours over on Ticketmaster.ie.

A Night With WWE

With overwhelming anticipation I entered the O2. The waves of young children covered to the neck in WWE merchandise brought to me to a recall a time when the battles of Razor Ramon, Shawn Michaels and Diesel were the highlights of my television experience. It has been a while since I watched WWE. The last experiences I can recall involved Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock and an organization still called the WWF. So my anticipation was met with jubilation as I sat in my seat, looked down at the ring and felt right at home. I had said before I went in, that the night will have been a success if I left the arena with a smile on my face and the will to start watching again. Did the WWE superstars live up to my memories??

Play a part in Verdi’s AIDA

Verdi’s famous opera Aida, is said to be one of the greatest operas ever written. It tells the story of an Ethiopian princess whose love for an Egyptian soldier is complicated by the fact that their two countries are at war with each other and Aida’s love rival is the Pharaoh’s daughter. Aida will be performed with spectacular effect, with 12 metres high pyramids, palm trees and statues on the stage of the O2 Arena in Dublin on Friday 4 December and in the Odyssey Arena in Belfast on Saturday 5 December. This opera calls for a large range of extras, some of whom have been chosen in Dublin to take part in both of these productions. Including some people you might know! But they need more!
