Sarah Blasko, the ARIA winner (Which country is the ARIA again), brings intelligent lyrics, mature musicianship and critical acclaim (so you either love her, or have never heard of her) to the Academy 2 in Dublin on Saturday 11 December. Finding an excuse to come home for Christmas is useful, and The Coronas have added a second Christmas show at The Olympia Theatre. The band will now play Friday 10th and Saturday 11th December. With a three for one deal, Clockwork Apple Presents: Sweet Jane, Kowalski & Clockwork Noise on Wednesday August 6th Upstairs Whelans, Dublin. Clockwork Noise start things off fresh from the Knockanstocken Festival (love the name). Kowalski make their way from a legion of… fans I think, but it might actually be a legion, in Belfast to play their style of layered harmonies, synth-pop with a little glitch-pop thrown in. Sweet Jane’s origins lie in 2008, what started as a recording project between Danda & Lydia Des Dolles, quickly evolved in to the current line-up. They weave male and female vocals to create darkly pop-tinged rock. They have been playing support at a lot of gigs throughout the UK and Ireland to promote their début album “Sugar for My Soul”.
