This particular flavour of single theme tumblelog is hugely popular on tumblelogging service tumblr and while I must admit the sheer abundance of them can get a little irritating, if you find one on a subject you like, you’ve hit the jackpot (F**k Yeah Zooey anyone?). Hello there, my name is Dan and I’m a big fan of tumblelogging. In fact, I run five tumblelogs without any negative impact on my social life (honest). One of my tumblelogs even landed me a book deal, but I’ll tell you that story another time. I’m here today to give you an idea of what a tumblelog is and to get you started with some of my favourites. So what is a tumblelog? Pixelspread sums it up pretty nicely I think: A tumblelog is a stream of consciousness. A series of images, links, videos, quotes, and short blurbs that don’t necessarily share a common thread, but can collectively be pieced together to form a personality.
