Jennifer’s Body: Not As Hot As It Looks

The Plot: Sold as a fun horror with plenty of sexy humour, Jennifer’s Body is about high school student Jennifer, played by the liptastic Megan Fox the stereo-typical queen of the halls who after an unfortunate series of events is possessed by a hungry boy-eating demon. As Jennifer begins to feed on her classmates her sexually confused best friend Needy, played by Amanda Seyfried (Momma Mia, Veronica Mars) realises what has happened and goes head to head (and tongue to tongue) with Jennifer. The Verdict: Written by Diablo Cody writter of award winning Juno, Jennifer’s Body misses the mark and I found it to be entirely disappointing. Dracula The Un-Dead: review

Not too long ago I posted about the upcoming release of Dracula The Un-Dead by Dacre Stoker and the fact that he was coming to Dublin to hold some talks on the book. Sadly I couldn’t make it to the talk but I have just finished reading the book. Having only recently read Dracula for the first time I was really excited to read this ‘official’ sequel, approved by the Stoker family. In my previous post I had mentioned that the format was the same as the original, a story told through a series of letters, telegrams and diary entries. However, this is not entirely true. Although letters, documents, diaries and telegrams do play a part in Dracula The Un-Dead, the story is told through the authors narrative. Twitter Shows Its Nasty Side

It seems that the Daddy of Twitter, Stephen Fry has decided to quit the Tweeting citing “too much aggression and unkindness” as the cause for his departure. Fry has caused a kerfuffle on the micro-blogging site leading to finger pointing and cries for the famous presenter, writer, pod-caster, actor, academic not to abandon his followers which number close to 1 million. It has yet to be seen if Fry will stand his ground on the decision.

Corona Cork Film Festival

The 54th Corona Cork Film Festival is kicking off today 1 November in Cork for 7 days, ending next Sunday 8 November. In venues such as the Cork Opera House, Gate Cinema and Kino Cinema, this festival looks like it will have something for everyone with a huge variety of galas, features, shorts and documentaries to be enjoyed.
