It’s Tuesday, and that can mean only one thing: more goodies for all you couch potatoes out there. Post Hallowe’en the run-up to Christmas begins in earnest, and this week sees lots of new content with which to fill those stockings in 8 1/2 weeks time. So what have we got in our fun filled sack today?

Post Clueless and Empire Records and pre American Pie and 10 Things I Hate About You, in 1998 the movie Can’t Hardly Wait made a total non-impression upon me. So much so that I had forgotten the entire plot. Yet as I “accidentally” ended up re-watching it late last night, one thing kept me completely glued to the screen - the incredible number of current Hollywood actors and actresses that seemed to be just starting off their careers in this god awful teen comedy. A 19 year old Jennifer Love Hewitt plays Amanda the typical prom queen and love interest. I must admit her acting skills have come quite a long way since this display of what can only be described as “breathing” her emotions on the screen. Darren’s Movie News 07/05/09

I tell you, if I had the time I would definitely do the Movie News Round Up every day. It builds up so quickly and some days are more hectic than others. Today, we have new movie news, pictures from upcoming shoots, a little gossip and a few trailers. In sad news, Dom DeLuise passed away. A Mel Brooks favourite in Silent Movie, Blazing Saddles and History of the World:Part 1, he died on Monday aged 75. It was reported a few weeks ago that Farrah Fawcett was hospitalised and was in critical condition. More recently, it seems she has been putting her affairs in order. Sad times for her, her husband Ryan O’Neill and their troubled son, Redmond O’Neill. James McAvoy, Elizabeth Banks, Laura Linney and Anna Friel will star in The Details, a black comedy about a couple who discover an infestation of raccoons in their back yard. … There’s more →
