The Friday Feeling – Movies out this Week

Another week comes and goes and thus we have a another batch of new films in cinemas nationwide vying for ultimate box office glory. This weeks slate is a little more bare than usual with only 3 new movies unspooling. So what’s on the menu?

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus: review

First off let me say that I thoroughly enjoyed The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. What a film! From start to finish it was a visual treat, beautiful and stunning-and I don’t just mean Valentina It was rich in colour, full of the warmth of light in dark places, atmospheric and almost always nocturnal. A jewel to behold.

Or issue #379 of Pointless Hollywood Remakes: Why? Oh why would they remake Stallone’s Cliffhanger? Can someone please leave a comment explaining the rationale behind that? Seriously! There’s also another Fright Night reboot/remake/rehash in the works. Not to mention the remade-a-million-times A Christmas Carol - the promo poster is out now. And I’m not done - I mentioned a few days ago that there is another Jekyll movie int he works with Keanu in the title role. Well, it seems it will have a rival. In Jekyll and Hyde, Forrest Whitaker and 50 Cent will take on the title roles. The follow up to Paris, Je t’Aime, set in New York, has finally got a a release date.
